Dr Alessandra Francesconi completed her training in Medical Oncology in Brazil in early 2007. Committed to improving her knowledge and to gaining experience, she came to Australia to work as a Clinical Research Fellow at Royal Brisbane Hospital. After almost 3 years working at RBWH, she decided to stay in Australia permanently and completed further training at the Gold Coast and Mater Hospitals and gained qualification with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a fully qualified Medical Oncologist for the second time. She also has been granted a Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research - Oncology, through the University of Melbourne.

Dr Francesconi has experience in treating a broad range of solid tumours with special interests in gastrointestinal and brain tumours.

Dr Francesconi is committed to delivering a high standard of treatment to her patients, utilising up-to-date advances in Oncology practice. She participates actively in national and international conferences, multidisciplinary tumour team meetings and cancer clinical trials.
